DHONI 2.0
iYacht designed the first electric-powered dhonis: fully electric 16-passenger boats for a resort in the Maldives, inspired by the traditional transport boats of the islands. Featuring a relatively flat hull, these dhonis are highly efficient with minimal water resistance. The Dhoni 2.0 combines maritime traditions with modern technology.
Equipped with a Torqeedo propulsion system and a BMW i3 battery, this boat can cruise for hours between the islands without emitting CO2. In addition to their low maintenance requirements, sustainability was a key requirement for this project.
