HELLWIG TAROS

When the owner of Hellwig Boats, Michael Hammermeister, commissioned the designers at iYacht in Hamburg to develop a new model at the end of 2009, these premises were clearly defined. After the first design phase, it was decided together to increase the length of the boat from 7.40 m to 7.60 m in order not to have to accept any loss of comfort for the crew. The cockpit was to be integrated with an outside pantry with a sink, a relatively large refrigerator and either a ceramic hob or a grill.

In addition, Hellwig accomplished something different than before in terms of the construction and components used: a sliding door was integrated and the cockpit was designed as a full-shell, self-draining. The interior was also made from several GRP parts and an efficient arrangement of strips and panels to create a modern interior.

The project was presented for the first time using the newly developed 3D yacht configurator from iYacht. The Hellwig team managed to sign the first purchase contracts just a few days after the presentation. The Hellwig 760 is certified for design category C (coastal waters).
